Middle Class Reviews

Reviews are nothing new. Gin and the middle class however share a remarkably similar vintage. The term “middle class” itself was coined in the mid-18th Century at a time where gin was attracting Hogarth’s attention as a poison of society and the ruination of mothers. Over the centuries, gin has risen and fallen in popularity. Since the mid-2010s it has enjoyed a resurgence. High-quality small-batch gins are being made by skilled distillers. Low-quality, syrup-flavoured industrial gins are being made by skilled distillers who want the money. This review site takes itself incredibly seriously, without even the slightest hint of self-congratulatory preposterous pomposity. The idea is entertain. To inform. And to bask in the smug warmth of knowing that you’re drinking gin.
